SPONSORSHIP

Herbalists Without Borders International is a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit and NGO Organization. Herbalists Without Borders (HWB) embraces a collective vision of a worldwide community where all people have access to affordable natural botanical health.

We are in a global healthcare crisis. People around the world are displaced or in need due to political upheaval, war, drought, or famine and do not have access to health care. Even in the United States healthcare is being threatened and more people than ever will be looking for alternatives to the unaffordable or unattainable healthcare system. Herbalists Without Borders is in the position for ACTION and MOBILIZATION to get herbal medicine ON THE GROUND to the people who need it most. Be in the right place at the right time and join us - together we can meet the needs of the people and work at the forefront of the global herbalist medicine movement.

Herbalists Without Borders operates, survives, and thrives on volunteer efforts and donations only. Corporate support is critical to grow and sustain global efforts to provide natural and botanical health and wellness solutions to communities in need.

With a global team of volunteers we are able to provide botanical support to communities through HWB Chapter's grassroots projects and special projects.  Herbalists Without Borders currently operates with an all volunteer staff which means a large portion of our fundraising go directly to our projects for supplies, resources, and support. This also means that in order for us to grow and meet the demands of a growing herbal medicine movement, we must also grow our HWB support network. And HWB isn't just herbalists, but also CAM practitioners and alternative health providers working with our mobile and free people's clinics to provide health service access to underserved communities and in times of crisis.

Herbalists Without Borders is a network of member herbalists and alternative health practitioners - but we are not a static non-profit. At HWB:

  • We believe that health and wellness are human rights, not privileges

  • HWB recognizes many global citizens lack access to primary health and wellness due to economic hardship and other barriers

  • HWB creates and promotes inter-cultural health education, borderless medicine exchanges and actions via local to global chapters

  • HWB supports equitable, sustainable, community-based, fair trade practices pertaining to foods, herbs and botanical products

OUR PROJECTS:

International Borderless Medicine - Kenya, East Africa Clinic & Chapter

Picture
Meet Jeanne Hughes. Jeanne is the HWB East Africa Coordinator. Herbalists without Borders East Africa works within the local community to train herbalists and work together to harvest and make herbal medicines for local communities.

Africa has 54 countries and is 1/5 of the worlds land mass. HWB East Africa works even in the midst of tribal tensions and violence to help reach those who need herbal medicines, clean water, soap, and more. Their work to connect people and communities help prevent more young victims of human trafficking, female genital mutilation and much more.

Picture
Jeanne started training herbalists in 2005, and continues to this day - and now in 2017 humanitarian need is still monumental.

HWB East Africa also contributes in other ways - they build and sew shoes for orphaned children, construct sanitary hygiene kits for girls and the elderly, and they work to provide safe, clean drinking water to villages. They also work together to grow, package, and sell Roselle tea to reduce poverty. Their work is critical to the health of the people and of their communities.

The East Africa groups work with so many communities - and reach a significant number of people. These groups mobilize in a region where instability and violence erupt and put their own lives on the line to help those who need it.

They do so much  - clean water, sanitation kits, wells, shoes, harvesting, drying, preparing and distributing herbal medicines, liquid soap, and training of herbalists. Your support can directly impact the lives of women, children, and families in East Africa.

FREE People's Clinics, USA

Picture
Picture
HWB holds FREE People's Clinics in many cities around the US and other countries. These clinics offer low to no cost  wellness appointments, herbal and natural health support to people who otherwise may not have access to affordable health care.  We are at a critical time now where many people are looking to herbal and alternative health resources to meet their health needs when they have nowhere else to turn. Donations and sponsors are crucial to stocking these clinics with much needed supplies. Be a visible supporter of making herbal medicine and People's Clinics a viable option to meet the needs of those without access to health and wellness.
In 2016 HWB supported 70+ chapters, provided over 6,400 individuals with herbal and holistic health support, and had volunteers serve over 9,500 hours. The demand for aid increased with Standing Rock (USA) and international borderless medicine in Europe, Cuba, and Africa.

Veterans Resiliency Holistic Clinic - Addressing the Needs of Our Veterans

Picture
The Veterans Resiliency Holistic Clinic is an innovative Herbalists Without Borders project created in the year 2016; one that is making a big difference in the nation.

The Veterans Resiliency Holistic Clinic (VRHC) promotes and provides natural and holistic approaches to relieving the symptoms of trauma and PTSD. The project supports veterans as well as their families, including those who may be marginalized, displaced, unemployed, homeless or imprisoned because of their PTSD symptoms. VRHC has many alternative health practitioner volunteers, and HWB funding supports their need for supplies, herbs, equipment, space, and more to make monthly clinics and services a success.
VRHC serves veterans and their families by hosting monthly holistic clinics. Regular clinics allows VRHC to provide ongoing and continuing health support to vets. VRHC offers many holistic modalities including clinical herbalism, craniosacral therapy, somatic experiencing, acupuncture, health coaching, reflexology, therapeutic yoga & psychology & more.

South Africa Clinic - Youth Driven Community Gardens in a Time of Drought

Picture
HWB South Africa is working with a rural school in a very poor community to provide education based programs integrated with community gardens. The program has one permanent volunteer gardener who manages the care of this community garden, and he involves all of the students in the school in the daily care and harvesting. The school community garden provides vegetables for the daily school meal and any extra veggies they sell to people in the village. The school community garden is working in an area of significant drought where fresh food is scarce, and this community garden is not only feeding the children, but inspiring their interest to grow more of their own food during this time of need. HWB South Africa is working on expanding the community garden to include more vegetable varieties, herbs, and fruit trees for the garden as well as shade trees and flowering shrubs on the school grounds.
HWB South Africa is working one on one with a rural primary school to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs in their community garden. This community garden feeds 150 school children who tend to the garden themselves.  This region is facing significant drought, and fresh fruits and vegetables are critical to providing healthy meals to these children!

HERBALISTS WITHOUT BORDERS HAS MANY OTHER PROJECTS, INCLUDING:

• Trauma Training - Herbalists, health workers and volunteers learn how to assist as street medics, borderless medicine volunteers and practitioners in crisis situations
• Medicinal Seed Saving - HWB is passionate about saving and sustaining our native medicinals through model projects and training materials
• Nourishing Community Gardens - HWB encourages and offers models of local and global community gardens that include medicinal and culinary herbs with trained Master Herbalists
• Community Herb Apothecaries - There is a great need to provide ethically grown and sourced, sustainable sources of herbs that can be readily accessible to all communities. This project teaches herbalists how to create apothecaries from the ground up.

Disaster Relief - Forest fires, Harvey, Irma, Maria, and more...

The past few months HWB has had members and chapters mobilize for ground relief including street medics and mobile clinics in disaster areas. HWB promotes fundraisers and supplies drives to members and the herbal community to mobilize donations of much needed supplies to those who need it most.
